FL Studio Code61 --- not recognising keyboard ---

Code 61, FL studio setup. I can't get the keyboard to work with it. it does work with other apps and windows makes a noise when connected, I didn't understand the "Hardware Setup" part of the tutorial that might be why? very new to this but I am learning fast for what I know. https://m-audio.com/kb/article/1934

  • Hey Dominic,

    Thanks for posting!

The first 25 keys at the left side of the Code's keybed will perform command functions when you toggle the Edit button. The hardware setup section of the guide above is instructing you to toggle Mackie control on the Code. You can do this by pressing the Edit button and pressing the key that represents Mackie/HUI and Curve. This key is the second C# from the left. This key command will allow you to set the Code to use Mackie or HUI protocol - in this instance, you want to use Mackie. The Code's display will read Mackie when it is selected.

Here is the full set of key commands that the Code's keybed can perform. Use the key highlighted in red to toggle between Mackie or HUI:

For more information about the Code's key commands, check out page 37 of the Code user guide.

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

  • I am still having problems with it what could it be? I guess it would be FL studio a setting maybe or this computer. I do not know a lot about music production so this is all good practice.

  • I think I know what the problem is. My computer is not recognising the keyboard when notes are being played, the keyboard does work with my laptop/computer and it works with this computer some times. So this computer will work with it after I turn the keyboard on and off a few times. I have tested this with that midi testing app. I will make another post about this new topic.
