M Audio Oxygen 49 3rd Gen - Not recognized on Windows 10

My M Audio Oxygen 49 3rd Gen is not being read by computer. All of the lights come on but the computer isn't reading it. My pc is windows 10. The usb port is bent a little, but the keyboard still powers on.

  • HI Kevin,

    Thanks for posting!

Please check out our troubleshooting guide:

    Troubleshooting Class-compliant Devices

If you continue to have trouble, make sure to test this with a different computer and that should confirm if the bent USB port is actually the problem. If it does the same thing on another system, the keyboard may require service. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction. Here are a couple options you can choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions.

  • Solution:

I don't know if this may still be relevant or at least help someone else connect their M-Audio Oxygen 25/49/61 3rd gen (blue) to windows 10.

I was actually looking for solution myself before I burst into this space.

Assuming your Oxygen is detected by the computer and show up with a Yellow label/icon in the "Others" categories of the Device Manager (in Windows).

Download the latest driver here http://www.m-audio.com/support/downlo...
before install, extrat and right click on oxygen-1.3.0.exe, go to "properties" then "compatibility". Now, tick "run this program in compatibility mode for" and select "Windows 7" click "APPLY". connect your oxygen 25/49/61 and run the oxygen-1.3.0.exe file. That works for me. Hope it works for you.

  • I have the same problem with Windows 10. My Oxygen 49 works fine on a Win7 pc but throws an Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) error on Win10. I tried the solution above but it didn't work. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. M-Audio Support - there are alot of these still in use. How about releasing a Win10 driver!!!

  • found this after a whole day of searching..fixed my problem...

If you have an M-Audio Oxygen (MKIII) controller and it is not controlling the software, change your preset to PRESET 10 This should allow you to control the software with the Oxygen's knobs and controls. While all current M-Audio keyboards are supported, please note that the original silver Oxygen keyboard controller is not supported as an auto-mapped device in Ignite.
