M-Audio Trigger Finger Pro Deserves a "Tips And Tricks" Forum Here!

There really ought to be a place for Trigger Finger Pro users to gather, and resort to, for learning and sharing creative uses for Trigger Finger Pro and its software components like Arsenal, Hybrid, AIRDrums, etc., so this site at M-Audio develops a better aura of "community" amongst its users and visitors.

~~~
Permit me to start by providing this TFP Tips and Tricks idea:
Connect a sound module via MIDI, to the MIDI (DIN) Out jack of Trigger Finger Pro.
Route the audio output(s) of the connected sound module, to multiple inputs on your soundcard, for realtime or step programming into an audio track of your DAW, utilizing the plugin(s) you've got loaded into Arsenal.
This presents yet another way to add to the flexibility Trigger Finger Pro adds to DAW programming.
Whether M-Audio likes the idea I've posted above or not, what do folks think?
  • Thanks much TFP Noob!
    I'm afraid there's not a solid way to create a separate section on these "Get Satisfaction" forums like you mentioned.
    However, whenever you tag the Trigger Finger Pro on a topic, it gets added to the Product and Services page:
    http://community.m-audio.com/m-audio/...
    So from here you only see TFP topics. Setting your topics as an "Idea" is a good idea. :)
    Hey, Dan R
    I believe you forgot to justify the "Implemented" status to your readers, by demonstrating how Trigger Finger Pro users can efficiently get at positive, creative usage and solutions-oriented posts regarding this tool.
    That link you provided, without further explaining how users here can get to "Tips and Tricks" and the like was a sore disappointent -- as it linked me to a barrage of TFP problems!
    Kindly remove the "Implemented" status, and forward this on to Management? The appearance here is that Trigger Finger Pro is being summarily rejected by its very makers, seeing that positive usage ideas and solutions posts aren't regarded as worthy of being uniquely categorized by M-Audio in some way -- for fast access to TFP Usage Ideas & Solutions.
    "Tips and Tricks" type category (or effective search mechanism for same), for easy access without stumbling over posts with TFP "Problems" a number of which are unresolved is a great idea that is not at all implemented (just yet) -- unless I'm totally missing something with that all-encompassing Trigger Finger Pro product link you (humorously?) provided.
    Honestly, seeing all those problem posts at the link you offered has the effect of seeding Enduser Depression (exactly the reason I submitted the idea -- and my original post, with its submitted 'Trigger Finger Pro User Tip' just got lost, trying to locate it at that misleading link.
    Can't we do better? No one could argue against the novel idea TFP users are long overdue for some big-time, global encouragement here. ;-)
  • TFP Noob,
    These forums are hosted/developed by Get Satisfaction. The status applied to individual threads, like "Implemented", are from a small list of preset choices provided by them. In this case, they were simply no other more appropriate choices.
    That status or really any aspect of the organization of the forums do not represent an official statement or position by M-Audio. The status is used for me to organize threads more than anything else. It's certainly not anything directed towards you or your request.
    I'm happy you're willing to devote time and energy to help improve the TFP and the experience here on the forums. We'll do our best to help everyone within the basic layout of Get Satisfaction.
    Thanks again!
  • Oh. Well long before inMusic's contract is up with Get Satisfaction, I'd sure hope the latter would improve the flexibility of this egregiously limited, hand-strapping forum format.
    May I dutifully ask you to pass this apoeal on M-Audio Management, as I fear they have no idea the extent to which Get Satisfaction's "forum" infrastructure induces greater angst in the hearts and minds of their customers who wish to find a real community of not only help for problems with products they purchase, but also a wealth of insightful articles, posts, blogs, discussions, etc., etc., for the edification of M-Audio product users -- especially for a product as novel as Trigger Finger Pro.
    I might add that M-Audio's seeming silence about Trigger Finger Pro's future only adds to the feeling among some of us, that we've been "had", and have no recourse --no empowerment at all, to spurn the Company on, to standing behind the Trigger Finger Pro product so as to at the very minimum, release yo the public, a Software Developer's Kit (SDK) for it, and to gather for users, every informative, practically beneficial info lead culled from these TFP forums, for an all-important Tips and Tricks section.
    P.S.: You'd think inMusic would appeal to Get Satisfaction, to provide some additional "slots" yo accommodate growing need for continuous improvement of service to customers. Yet somehow one gets the idea we're dealing with a Company that doesn't understand the great, money-making advantage of "Continuous Improvement of Customer Service" objectives.
    I fear some of these great ideas never see the light of day on a Manager's desk, but rather fall flat right here in this dark hole called C.GetSatisfaction.
    Please pass this upline, and pray with me that things change for the better with M-Audio's issue with a seeming lack of obsession for quality improvement of Trigger Finger Pro and this potentially fine forum?
    [Submitted hand-wringingly in earnest]
  • Greetings, Gazi. I notice your "replies" have no content from yourself but rather, they're just partial quotes from me.
    Why not share your thoughts? We'd sure like to hear your thoughts and ideas.
  • Wow. I was wondering also,
    Is this forum so sucky, that not even potentially thrilled, new Trigger Finger Pro owners who snagged a unit up at only $199USD -- including 8 Gigs of software, won't even come on here, boast about their "bargain" and share their glowing experiences?
    As I think of it, one gets the impression the c.GetSatisfaction forum here manages some product issues, sure -- but overwhelmingly exists to simply give inMusic product owners a place to vent frustrations -- not for the glorious outcomes of inMusic's brand identity improving by a transformative change from a bland, unresponsive corporate culture -- to assessing customer needs (both felt and real) -- and gauging how to best effect an increased value for products and service to the praise of the industry, merchants and users alike.
    Instead, the vibe overwhelmingly here seems to be, "Look. Just vent here, and go your unmerry way!"
    But undeterred (for now at least), on this Resurrection Sunday, I pray M-Audio proves they have yet a will to raise themselves from the dead, in the minds of their former and "wanna-be" devotees.
    Hello TFP Noob
    I've been kicking around the idea of writing a e-book and recording Video How to Guides regarding the TFP and was wondering if you would be interested in contributing to it. Is there a email where I can reach you? I would like to send you a rough copy of what i have completed.My first thought was that i could finish it on my own but if I could split the work load with someone who seams as eager as me to get information about the TFP out there it would be all the better for both parties. There is also a simple 4 to 5 page website being developed to distribute the Video Guide/E-book on the web. It is going to be a minimal maintenance type of website with great chances to Monetize. I can send screen shot of the website. Shoot me a reply if you are interested.
  • I think the idea with most companies now is to give enough to sell the product, but not enough that you won't be disappointed and thus buy another product. and thus they do not want to keep people excited, or enthused about tfp. They have no desire for this. It is all about the numbers. Never update or add to it. Never. Just let it die out, and thus many of those same people will buy the next product. Or spend on an existing more costly one. Your happiness means nothing to them. and the competition is doing the same ole crap. So they worry not about losing business. And now a days, it is expected to be let down and have to spend mo money. and so it never ends. All I read is bum steers for answers. Put offs, and I will pass it forward crap. which never goes anywhere. and I have no way of knowing until the release. A nice way of saying we don't care. Nor care to let you know. Because you and you're dissatisfaction with the product means nothing to us. Because we care about the numbers only. as long as we make money, we are happy. And that is the bottom line. I can't wait for some reply which is carefully worded, to not sound so bad, but yet, never man up, and make anything right or different. No change. That is how it is today. Face it folks.
