Midi learn template retention /code 61

Is storing a preset the only way of midi learn templates to be remembered on code 61?
The Korg kontrol2 works off the vst’s ( eg omnisphere ), loaded template, I’m trying to get the code to do the same , as storing Orestes is another step, thanx

  • Hey Jeff,

    Thanks for posting!

In this situation, you could be referring to two different presets - the hardware preset which refers to what the Code actually sends to the computer from its controllers or a software preset, which would be what the software is assigned to do with a specific incoming MIDI CC.

Controller assignments for what MIDI data the Code sends to the computer are saved to the hardware only. You can design a preset for the Code with its editor software and save that preset data as a file to be opened with the editor and loaded onto the Code later on but DAW or plugin software will not affect what data the Code actually sends.

That said, if you are using a specific hardware preset on the Code and you've saved a software preset mapping in the software, using that hardware preset again will align the parameters of the hardware to the software. If this fits into your workflow, it might be a good idea to design a hardware preset for a specific plugin and use that every time you use that plugin.

    I hope that's helpful!
