Hi Luis,
At this time I do not have a timeline for a Maverick driver. If and when they become available for the 610 we will be sure to post in the community update section of the forum. Thank you. -

I guess i don't understand why you all are having problems. My profire 610 is working fine in mavericks. is your profire not recognized?

yes it worked with my old imac 2008 and with my macbook 2012. both were running with mountain lion and older and there the 610 worked fine...just with the newer imac it is not compatible ithink...there is also not enough bus power with the thunderbolt

and also with the power adapter it is not running...it is going to stop playing anything after round about 3 minutes...very frustrating

well, I hate to say but frankly this sounds like more a problem with the latest iMac and power delivery than with the profire. I am not even sure m-audio can do anything about, for instance, a poor power delivery over the firewire on the new iMac (which i assume is through a thunderbolt adapter?).
You may have to invest in another thunderbolt to firewire solution, such as the hubs available from belkin, sonnet and matrox. They also have their own power supplies so should do a better job on that front. I have had success using my profire in 10.9 with several machines including real macs, but I use mostly hackintosh. I also sometimes use a power supply for the pro fire, and it works fine so maybe your power supply is not compatible or correct.

Thank you for your contribution. I'm sure this will answer many questions about the profire. Thanks again!

hmm i do not really agree. it is very strange....on the macbook 2012 with thunderbolt there is enough power but with the newest imac not. and i tried it with several imacs in an apple store. The power supply works correctly when i use the profire standalone.
with thunderbolt/firewire it is just stopping playing music. but everytime i am changing it from 44,1kHz to 48kHz for example with the software, it continues playing. i thought of buying a fw hub. but it is too expensive. especially because i ́m nor sure whether this will solve my problem. still thinking, this is a driver problem.
But it is nice to know that profire 610 is running with hackintosh. i heard of having a couple of problems especially with audio interface. Wanted to use hackintosh but now it is too late and i got stuck with my new imac having more problems then ever. thanks -

where is my driver for osx 10.9 maverick ?????????
my profire 610 not running !!!!!!!!!! -

Hi, I posted this originally. I found that if I disconnect and then connect my interface again it actually works with Mavericks, try it, it has to work!!

Why don't you try to post something constructive? you provide no information whatsoever about your problem. It has been stated many times now that the current driver works fine in 10.9 so if you are having an issue it is likely nothing to do with the driver. The only issue that is still uncertain is if driver work can improve support for certain machines, like the new iMac, which people seem to have problems with when using the profire and a thunderbolt to firewire adapter.

tried it many times...without success...hate it and i think i will sell the profire and getting something with better support. pitiful, especially because the interface is roundabout 6 months old....:-(

Hi Majo,
Unfortunately your own tests seem to corroborate the fact that the new iMac has a hardware incompatibility with the profire. It seems unlikely (though not impossible) that the issue is related to drivers at all. The fact that it works on most systems and is not related to OS version, and that it works only intermittently on the new iMac suggests heavily that it is a hardware incompatibility. It is the same thunderbolt to firewire interface that works with older macs and the profire, so this is an issue very specific to the new iMac, and not OS or driver dependent. Looks like its time to move to another (USB or Thunderbolt) interface unless you can get yourself a thunderbolt hub with a firewire chipset of its own like the ones i mentioned previously.

ok give it a try...but where can i find a thunderbolt hub with firewire chipset?

Sin,
Did you upgrade Mavericks from Mountain Lion with the driver already installed, or did you install the driver onto a Mac already running Mavericks? I'm thinking it would be nice to have some of Maverick's new features, but I don't want to jeopardize what's working well already.
By the way, I routinely use a ProFire 610 (w/external power supply) connected via 400/800 FireWire cable to a 2009 iMac running Mountain Lion 10.8.5.-
I doubt it would make any difference, but pretty sure in all my cases i had the driver already installed in 10.8.x before updating to 10.9.
If you worried just make a disc image before updating. it is good practice anyway.
